| DROPZONE
CENTRAL EVERETT, 2006 Drop Zone central Everett is a prototype store for a growing chain of shipping and mailbox stores. The design concept started with the idea of an aerial supply drop, with a target motif in the 24 hour mailbox lobby. In the main space the aeronautical theme is represented by the use of stainless steel facing on the cabinets, and stainless steel inserts in the display slatwall. The color scheme builds on Drop Zone’s corporate color scheme, providing a more appealing look than a larger competitor’s brown theme. Major Considerations: The design needed to be very affordable, while at the same time being eye-catching. The solution uses color and inexpensive materials to achieve this. Part of Drop Zone’s business is handling people’s E-Bay auctions for them. The front display windows provide a place to display merchandise which is for sale on E-Bay. To provide security for the merchandise in the 24 hour area and allow natural light in, the E-Bay merchandise is protected inside metal cages which complement the industrial/aeronautical theme. |
